Weakley County Traffic Court Records
Traffic matters written on county paper go through General Sessions Court. The Circuit Court Clerk keeps those records. On the public TnCIS form you can pick General Sessions as the court type and Criminal or Civil as the case type. There is no public Traffic checkbox. A traffic case may still sit under one of those headings. Ask the clerk whether your citation is covered there.
Martin, Dresden, Greenfield, Gleason, and Sharon each run their own municipal court for ordinances, traffic, parking, and code violations. A city ticket stays with the city named on it. One caution: a payment button will happily take your money. It shows no docket, no case events, and no full history of the case.
County Ticket or City Citation
The ticket's issuing agency and court line decide where the case lives. Not every citation written inside Weakley County belongs to county General Sessions. City police often keep ordinance and traffic tickets in municipal court, while the county process applies only to General Sessions matters.
| Ticket Source | First Contact | Online Limit |
|---|---|---|
| County General Sessions | Circuit Court Clerk, 731-364-3455 | TnCIS has no separate Traffic filter. |
| Martin municipal | Martin Police Department municipal court | Payment instructions do not equal docket search. |
| Dresden, Greenfield, Gleason, Sharon | Issuing city court or clerk | No universal city search was confirmed. |
Can't make out the court name? Give the clerk your citation number and issuing agency before you send any payment.
Looking Up a Traffic Ticket
Start the lookup with the citation in hand. Write down its number, issuing agency, named court, alleged violation, appearance date, and any response deadline. For a county matter, run General Sessions through the Weakley TnCIS search by name, year, or the numeric part of the local case reference. Then confirm any match you find.
- Read the citation and identify county General Sessions or a named municipal court.
- For General Sessions, try TnCIS by full party name and year.
- If a case reference is shown, enter the digits after its final hyphen.
- Call 731-364-3455 or visit Room 203 when the county record does not appear.
- For a city citation, use that city’s court contact, not the county payment schedule.
- Record the confirmed date, payment or plea deadline, amount, and response method.
Call or visit the counter when the online form comes up empty. New citations, older numbering, and city records may not resolve in the public county system at all.
Weakley Speeding Schedule
The county's official traffic page, updated in February 2026, posts General Sessions speeding totals. Each figure combines listed costs and fines. Municipal citations and certain other charges fall outside the schedule, and some violations still require a court appearance.
| Speed Over Limit | Costs | Fine | Listed Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9 mph or less | $120.50 | $5 | $125.50 |
| 10 to 15 mph | $187.50 | $15 | $202.50 |
| 16 to 20 mph | $187.50 | $20 | $207.50 |
| 21 to 25 mph | $187.50 | $25 | $212.50 |
| Over 25 mph | $187.50 | $50 | $237.50 |
The official Weakley traffic page is captured below.

The schedule reflects one page at one point in time. Ask the issuing court what amount is actually due.
How to Find Your Traffic Court Date
The appearance date printed on the citation is a first reference. It is not a promise the setting will hold. Before you drive anywhere, confirm the date, time, court, and location with the issuing clerk. County General Sessions questions go to the Circuit Court Clerk. Note that the county's general calendar page is a community and government calendar. It is not a searchable trial docket.
| Citation or reference | Use the full number shown, such as 99GS1-2026-TR-12345; the example illustrates format only. |
|---|---|
| Issuing court | County General Sessions or the named municipal court controls. |
| Date and time | Confirm the printed appearance setting and ask whether it remains active. |
| Location | Verify the courthouse, city court, room, and check-in instructions. |
| Status | Ask whether the matter is pending, paid, reset, disposed, or subject to further action. |
Do not infer a reset or dismissal merely because a search result is missing.
Martin Municipal Traffic Process
Martin spells out the county's fullest city process. Municipal court convenes on the second and fourth Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. Payments go through the Martin Police Department at 732 North Lindell Street. Stop by during regular business hours. Acceptable forms are cash, money order, cashier's check, and personal check under the page's restrictions. A debit or credit charge adds $3.
When a judge assigns defensive driving, Martin explains the local costs and deadlines. Verify those directly. Missing court can add costs or fines and trigger notice to Tennessee Safety. Keep these municipal rules apart from the county General Sessions speeding schedule. The Martin municipal court source lays out the full process.

Martin's page shows why city payment, court dates, and records must be checked with the city itself.
Pay or Contest a Ticket
Paying and fighting a ticket are separate choices with separate rules. The official county page lists payment methods and warns that some violations require an appearance. It does not say every ticket can be paid. Nor does it say payment means the same thing in each city. Read the citation. Ask the court about the plea, deadline, and appearance rules that apply.
| Paying | Contesting |
|---|---|
| Confirm that payment without appearance is allowed. | Contact the issuing court for the plea and hearing process. |
| Use only the county or city route named by the court. | Do not send payment if seeking to contest without first asking the clerk. |
| Keep proof and request a receipt. | Keep the citation and every notice of a setting. |
Appearance warning: Some violations require court even when a fee schedule exists. Missing a required date can create added consequences, so call the issuing clerk promptly.
County Payment by Mail or Card
For an eligible county payment, the official page directs a money order or cashier's check payable to Weakley County General Sessions Court Traffic, mailed to 116 West Main Street, Dresden, Tennessee 38225. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you want a receipt back. The Circuit Clerk sits on the second floor.
Fees need care. The traffic page lists a 3% card fee. A separate Circuit page says card payments may carry $3 or 3%, whichever is greater. Those are transaction-specific figures, not one countywide rule. Confirm the exact fee and approved payment form first. And never send county instructions against a city citation without asking that city.
Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record
Two different records, two different keepers. A traffic court file covers one citation: its filings, plea, settings, disposition, fine, and costs. A Tennessee driving record is a state document. It may show reported convictions, points, or license action. A clean court search tells you nothing about the driver record. A payment page is not a driver-history service.
| Court Traffic Record | Driver Record | |
|---|---|---|
| Kept by | General Sessions clerk or municipal court | Tennessee driver-services authority |
| Shows | Citation, settings, plea, disposition, fine, and costs | Reported convictions, points, or license status |
| Get it | Issuing court lookup or clerk request | State’s authorized driver-record process |
This page concerns public court-case access, not a comprehensive motor-vehicle history.
City Citation Search Limits
Weakley County's five main cities share no single public docket search. Each municipal court keeps its own records. Gleason runs a citation bill pay service. It shows no searchable docket fields, though. Sharon lists a monthly court meeting. It also offers a way to pay fines. The code lists what a city docket may hold. Fields include name, warrant or summons number, alleged offense, disposition, fines, costs, collection status, and workhouse details where they apply.
Those code fields describe a docket's contents, not a live case you can pull up. Call the city for the public portion of a specific record. The Martin docket search page walks through that city's route in more detail.
Copies and Fees
The county's General Sessions civil schedule sets ordinary copies at $0.50 and a certified copy at $5. Those prices may not hold for every traffic record, every city, or every certification. Ask the issuing clerk for the current charge, page count, certification cost, and delivery options.
| Item | Posted Reference | What to Confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary copy | $0.50 on county fee page | Per-page treatment and applicability to traffic |
| Certified copy | $5 on county fee page | Whether copying is additional |
| City traffic record | Ask city court | Local search, copy, and certification fees |
Give the clerk the citation number, the court, the record you want, and whether it needs certification. Phone, mail, and in-person counter requests all work when the online route only takes payment.
Verify the Weakley Ticket Outcome
Keep the receipt and court notices after you pay, appear, or otherwise resolve the case. Ask the issuing clerk whether the status has been entered. Request a docket or certified disposition if you need one for your own matter. Online systems can lag. City cases sometimes go unlisted.
For General Sessions, start with the Circuit Court Clerk. That office can confirm the original file. For a municipal ticket, go back to the issuing city. A state driver record must be fixed another way. It goes through the state's authorized process with a supporting court disposition. Keep those channels straight. A city payment confirmation is not the same as a full Weakley County traffic record.
